23/01/14 Mnd

In today's morning lesson we came in and started off with a knowledge questionare game, about Shakespeare.

We split into teams of 5 and was given 20seconds to answer each question some of the questions we answered were..

How many parts did the stage have? 2 the outer stage and the inner

What happened on the outer stage? It was facing the courtyard where the actors performed

What happened in the inner stage? Where other actors performed but we're not nesseserly involved in the play

What was the cellar called? Hell

What was the trap called? The grave trap

What play was being staged that caused the fire to happen in the stage roof? Henry the 8th

We then discussed what we need to write and how to develop our essays successfully

21/01/14

Today we just continued with whole day rehearsals understanding our characters and scenes more it is starting to develop nicely.

20/01/14 Mnd

In today's lesson we came into class and was split into our groups, red group and blue group both groups will be doing the play but both will be differently twisted.

My group is blue group. I'll be playing puck for this group and Lucia will be playing red groups puck

We both come together after class to show each other our different twists in our scenes and tell each other what we could do differently and improve on.

During lesson I had a short debate with rob out teacher over having a cloud to sit on. I think it will show the audience that we as the fairies who have caused this problems are over looking them showing that we are a higher class also that we are mystical and are hiding from them (Lysander Helena hermia and demitrias) the lovers.
However rob disagrees with this point, his ideas are that we stand up on the sides and watch them. I think this might cause abit if distraction away from the lovers due to put facial expressions. There's only so much exaggerating you can do and I don't want to loose the scene.

16/01/14 mnd

In today's morning lesson we went over the themes of the play some of these include love hate desire magic and law

We then went through some short scenes.

15/01/14 Mnd

In today's lesson we briefly looked at actions that can relate to our characters
We all decided to make the play contemporary so thd audience can understand clearly but still get a feel for Shakespeare it will more than likely captivate them more and make it more interesting

After this discussion we continued running over script.

14/01/14 Mnd

In today's lesson we started from page 62 were we left off yesterday going near to end to complete a whole run through. We went over my scene were puck implants a potion to lysanders eye trying to amend the mixup he did before putting all the lovers back together and making peace for the end of the story.

My aim of development is to understand each scene more and my character so far I understand that puck is a cheeky fairy who tries to impress but always seems to get things wrong, he comes across slightly evil also. My notes on today's lesson were to project more for the audience to hear me in the theatre and to articulate more on my 'th' il do this by doing more vocal warmups and tongue twisters morning and night

13/01/14 mnd

Today we came into lesson and started up with a few vocal warmups, we then went straight onto script work; rob told us to put stanislavskis methods into practice such as the 'magic if' what if I were the character, what if I was in their situation. Making the unbelievable such as my character puck a mystical creature/fairy realistic and the things he does true.

I need to bring my script alive the things that might help me lift of the page is learning about the script more, going into more depth and research about the play also going on 'no fear Shakespeare'. I also need to move my voice more as it' quite monotone said rob from our notes given. I think once I have a better understanding of the script and scenes it will become more natural.

Rob has asked us to read the next sector of the play for next rehearsals he also adviced us to watch dads army on YouTube called don't tell him pike or German prisoners.
